The story
Pastor by day.
Songwriter the rest of it.
"I believe all life is spiritual life."
Carlo has been making music since he was a kid. He started writing songs in high school, started recording in college, and never really stopped. He became a follower of Jesus as a teenager, and that has shaped every song since.
Since 2007 he has lived in Bellingham, Washington, where he serves as Pastor of Worship Arts at Hillcrest Church in Fairhaven. Before Hillcrest he led worship arts at two other churches on the West Coast. The music studio at Hillcrest doubles as his office.
His writing jumps between pop rock, pop opera, country and the occasional rap verse. The through line is the idea behind his album The Little Things: each song is written to help you notice the parts of life that are easy to walk past. He describes the goal as art that moves people to live in outlandish hope and spirited love for God and for one another.
He is married with three kids. When he is not writing, he is on a mountain bike, a pickleball court or a disc golf course.
The album was fully funded by partners in the Bellingham community. Proceeds go to future music projects and to Childcare Worldwide, a Bellingham nonprofit that sponsors kids in need around the world.
