Since 1972.

Jesus gave me mentors in CCF who invested deeply in me, and taught me to invest deeply in others.

Who we are.

A campus ministry at WWU since 1972, when a group of students started gathering weekly to worship Jesus and study Scripture together. Whether you have followed Jesus your whole life or you're curious about Christianity, CCF has a place for you.

Bring your enthusiasm and your questions, your faith and your doubts, your gifts and your weaknesses, your dreams and your fears. Our community always has room.

  1. Disciples make disciples who make disciples.Grow in your own faith and learn to come alongside others through one on one discipleship (Matthew 28:18 to 20).
  2. What does the Bible say about that? The Bible is our best source text for following Jesus. We welcome your questions and will sit with you in Scripture as you ask them.
  3. We rarely grow when we're comfortable.Chances to do hard things, and to rely more on God and less on our own power.
  4. Every student goes, gives, prays and welcomes.Campus pastors help, but students lead the charge in mission, welcoming people of all backgrounds, faiths and ethnicities.

What we believe.

In our own words. Tap to open.

1The Purpose of God

We affirm our belief in the one eternal God, Creator and Lord of the world, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who govern all things according to the purpose of his will. He has been calling out from the world a people for himself, and sending his people back into the world to be his servants and his witnesses for the extension of his kingdom, the building up of Christ's body, and the glory of his name.

2The Authority and Power of the Bible

We affirm the divine inspiration, truthfulness and authority of both Old and New Testament Scriptures in their entirety as the only written word of God, without error in all that it affirms, and the only infallible rule of faith and practice.

2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:21; Isa. 55:11; Matt. 5:17,18

3The Uniqueness and Universality of Christ

We affirm that there is only one Savior and only one gospel. Jesus Christ, being himself the only God-man, who gave himself as the only ransom for sinners, is the only mediator between God and people. There is no other name by which we must be saved. All men and women are perishing because of sin, but God loves everyone, not wishing that any should perish but that all should repent. Yet those who reject Christ repudiate the joy of salvation and condemn themselves to eternal separation from God. Jesus Christ has been exalted above every other name; we long for the day when every knee shall bow to him and every tongue shall confess him Lord.

1 Tim. 2:5,6; Acts 4:12; John 3:16 to 19; 2 Pet. 3:9; Phil. 2:9 to 11

4The Nature of Evangelism

To evangelize is to spread the good news that Jesus Christ died for our sins and was raised from the dead according to the Scriptures, and that as the reigning Lord he now offers the forgiveness of sins and the liberating gifts of the Spirit to all who repent and believe. Evangelism itself is the proclamation of the historical, biblical Christ as Savior and Lord, with a view to persuading people to come to him personally and so be reconciled to God. The results of evangelism include obedience to Christ, incorporation into his Church and responsible service in the world.

Matt. 28:18 to 20; John 20:21; Acts 2:32 to 39; 2 Cor. 5:20

5The Church and Evangelism

We affirm that Christ sends his redeemed people into the world as the Father sent him, and that this calls for a similar deep and costly penetration of the world.

Matt. 28:19,20; John 17:18; 20:21; Acts 1:8, Eph. 2:10

6The Power of the Holy Spirit

We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit. The Father sent his Spirit to bear witness to his Son, without his witness ours is futile. Conviction of sin, faith in Christ, new birth and Christian growth are all his work. Worldwide evangelization will become a realistic possibility only when the Spirit renews the Church in truth and wisdom, faith, holiness, love and power. We therefore call upon all Christians to pray for such a visitation of the sovereign Spirit of God that all his fruit may appear in all his people and that all his gifts may enrich the body of Christ.

John 16:7 to 11; Acts 1:8; Rom. 12:3 to 8; 1 Cor. 12:4 to 31; Gal. 5:22, 23

7The Return of Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly, in power and glory, to consummate his salvation and his judgment.

1 Thess. 4:13 to 18; Heb. 9:28; 2 Pet. 3:13; Rev. 21:1 to 5

Together with CCF at Whatcom Community College and CCF at Skagit Valley College, we are BXA. Part of Chi Alpha nationwide.

Missions.

For decades CCF has sent students around the country and the world, from caring for the poor to outreach at a university, alongside partners with close ties to CCF and often alumni.

“Just go. You will learn, and you will have so much fun.”

Gwen Brewer

“I don't think [what I experienced] would have been possible without going on this missions trip and having the opportunity to practice outreach.”

Internship.

The Bellingham Chi Alpha CMIT program: ten months of campus ministry training under a veteran campus minister. Running at Western for over 40 years.

2027/28 intern application opens this November. Questions: admin@ccfministry.com

What is it?

A Campus Ministry In Training internship is a ten month intensive training program for future Christian ministry. Interns train through active participation in campus pastoral leadership, with broad first hand experience in an encouraging atmosphere.

Only for future campus pastors?

No. Bellingham welcomes, room permitting, people whose calling may be local church ministry, international missions, the marketplace, or who are still unsure and want to test their gifts.

What does it offer?

An intern joins the staff as a co worker under training, not a gopher or a special projects person, with consistent personal mentoring. You, your calling and your future are treated with respect and care.

Why do an internship?

Founder Brady Bobbink pioneered the first CMIT program for Chi Alpha in 1977. Teachers, pilots and doctors all train in the field first; so should ministers. One intern put it this way: “When I came I was confident in myself, but when I left my confidence was in God.”

For the CCF team: a few things to confirm.

  • Is Friday Night Fellowship still 7:30pm in Fraser Hall 4 this fall, and which weeks are off for breaks?
  • What date is the first Friday of fall quarter?
  • Where and when do Cores meet, so the plan can name them?
  • Should Get connected go to admin@ccfministry.com or straight to a leader?
  • Who should the homepage quote about mentors be credited to?
  • What's Up still lists last spring's dates. Is Talk Time still running, and when is the first Soul Food this fall?
  • Sermon audio stops at March 13, 2026. Are fall sermons being posted somewhere else?

For the CCF team, from Nathan.

Everything a new student needs is already on your site: 7:30pm, Fraser Hall 4, a table by the doors. It just sits a few menus deep, so I built this around one question, what happens on my first Friday, with a live countdown and your campus missionaries up front, and every page of your current site folded in below.

I shoot the photos and video, and those become the site. The Website and Media Package is $3,500 and includes the custom site, an on location photo shoot, Google Business Profile cleanup and launch on your domain. Hosting is $50 a month, or own it outright.

This is a draft you can shape however you want.
