NEXTGEN Micro
A player centered program run in four session blocks in fall and spring, led by the full time professional coaching staff. Motor skills and individual technique, with teamwork and positive social interaction alongside it.
One club, 41 teams, one pathway that runs from a four year old's first touch to a college signature.
The club
The mission of Northwest United FC is to develop quality individuals of high character through athletic achievement, personal growth, sportsmanship, and community outreach. We create pathways and opportunities that allow every player and coach to reach their full potential.
Players working their hardest to affect games and their team. Coaches committed to their practices, education and representation of the club. Parents committed to the club and to trusting our development of players.
Players looking to be successful with results and development. Coaches progressing and developing every one of their players. Parents successfully supporting their child and their club.
Being honest and true to yourself. Players showing integrity to themselves and their team. Coaches holding high morals and staying honest in the face of adversity.
Contributing our highest effort in everything we do. Players with focus and determination in all aspects of NWU. Coaches working their hardest to deliver the NWU way.
Being mindful and respectful of everyone in and around youth soccer. Players, coaches and parents respectful of teammates, opposition and everyone related to the game.
Two taps
From 2026/27 the club moved off birth year to an August 1 to July 31 age grouping. Pick a birth date and this works out the age group, the program, the tryout window and who to email.
Player pathway
NWU is known as one of the best player development clubs in the state, measured by style of play, results and well rounded technical players. The club joined the ECNL Regional League at the start of the 2025/26 season, adding a national platform to a pathway that already ran from first touch to high school and college.
Intro to club soccer. All about getting touches on the ball in a fun, structured environment.
The next step in becoming an NWU player. Technical development of passing, receiving, dribbling and finishing.
State based regional competition in the RCL against other Washington clubs, with a route to the USYS State Championship or Presidents Cup.
Boys and girls teams in the Northwest ECNL-RL conference against Washington and Oregon clubs, then showcases, regional playoffs and nationals.
Programs
A player centered program run in four session blocks in fall and spring, led by the full time professional coaching staff. Motor skills and individual technique, with teamwork and positive social interaction alongside it.
For players exploring the idea of club soccer and wanting a feel for what to expect. One session a week across a six week spring program, building technical ability in a low pressure environment.
A solid foundation of technical ability in a fun, professional environment. Training twice a week across fall, winter and spring, then 7v7 games in fall and spring to put the training into practice.
Open to NWU and non NWU players. Every camp has a clear training focus while staying fast paced and energetic. Ball mastery, skills and moves, receiving under pressure and first touch.
Youth, Junior and Senior levels. Positioning, handling, coordination and the basic building blocks for the youngest keepers, then warm ups, organisation, communication, distribution and the mental side further up.
One to one and small group work with the club's own staff, outside the team environment, for players who want extra touches between sessions.
Attacking and finishing work alongside dedicated goalkeeper development. Dribbling in tight spaces, 1v1 actions, deceptive movement and high repetition finishing, with keepers training separately.
Teams
Every team the club fields, with the head coach and their email. RCL and NPSL run under Alex Vazquez, Director of Coaching. ECNL-RL and Pre-ECNL run under Jonny Graham, Director of Soccer Operations.
Coach names and emails exactly as published on nwunited.org. A few team rows on the club's current site have a blank email, marked here as team office.
Staff
Eighteen coaches and directors across the club. Every program from Micro to ECNL-RL is delivered by the same staff, following the same curriculum.
Facilities
Through a partnership with Skagit Valley College, the club invested in the turf install about four years ago. It became a true home and is regarded by visiting teams as one of the best places to compete in the region.

We do our best to avoid coaches having conflicts during round robin play. Enter the coach's email identically on every application for that coach. If a coach changes after the application is submitted, add the new coach with their email and remove the old one before the deadline.
Special requests beyond coaching conflicts are accommodated where possible, with early or late start times for pre-existing conflicts. Expect games on Friday and Saturday. Requests submitted after June 16 will not be considered.

Resources
Every club playing in a competitive league holds tryouts at the start of every season. Tryouts are how Northwest United identifies every player interested in premier soccer so coaches and directors can place them on a team that accelerates their development. Washington Youth Soccer mandates the tryout dates and schedule.
Beginning with the 2026/27 season Northwest United moved away from birth year team formation to an August 1 to July 31 age grouping format. It is designed to better support player development, team continuity and alignment across competition levels. Players born between August 1 and July 31 of the applicable age group are eligible to try out for that team.
Tryouts are hosted over two days per age group so players get more than one opportunity to be evaluated.
RCL is state based regional competition for U8 to U19 teams against other Washington clubs, with a route into the USYS State Championship or the USYS Presidents Cup. NPSL is the North Puget Sound League. ECNL-RL is the Northwest ECNL Regional League conference against Washington and Oregon clubs, leading to showcases, regional playoffs and nationals.
The club publishes a parent resource page and a manager resource page covering registration, the age group chart and season admin. Both are linked from the club's main site.

For Kristian and the NWU directors only
Everything on this page came off nwunited.org, word for word, with your own photos. These are the only things I could not confirm.
Your tryout dates, Firecracker, the camp schedule and the Micro program all still show spring and summer 2026 on the live site. Today is the end of September. Send me the 27/28 dates and the finder updates itself.
Your headshots are not labelled anywhere on the site, so I could not safely pair a face to a name. Send me the list in order and every coach gets their portrait.
There is no phone number anywhere on the club site, only a PO box and info@. Parents on a phone want a tap to call. What number should that be.
Your about page mentions many state championships, national tournament appearances and college placements, but never the numbers. Give me the real counts and years and they become the loudest thing on the page.
Where do you want Start registration to go. Right now it scrolls to the form. It can point straight at your registration platform instead.
The homepage still links 2024-26 uniforms. Is there a current kit link, and do you want the shop on the site.
Kristian,
I shoot soccer in Skagit and Whatcom most weekends, so I have watched NWU play. I kept landing on your site to check a tryout time and having to read four paragraphs of birth years to work out one answer. So I rebuilt it.
Everything here is yours. Your crest, your photos, your mission, your coaches, your Firecracker pricing. The one thing I added is the finder in section two, because that is the question every parent actually arrives with, and right now your site makes them do the maths themselves.
I am not going to put a number in front of you. Tell me what a site and a season of social content is worth to the club, and what your budget actually looks like, and we will work from there. I would rather hear you out first.
If you want, I will come shoot a session or a match day and show you the other half of what we do.
